Wikipedia - Kolmonen

Kolmonen or III divisioona is the fifth level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 108 Finnish football teams. The III divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kolmonen (Number Three in English and Trean in Swedish). Until the end of 2023 season, Kolmonen was the fourth level in the pyramid, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kolmonen fell down one level, starting in 2024.

The Finland Kolmonen is a prominent football (soccer) league in Finland, serving as the third tier of the Finnish football league system. Organized by the Finnish Football Association, Kolmonen features a diverse array of amateur and semi-professional clubs from various regions across the country. The league provides a competitive platform for local teams to showcase their talent, develop players, and aspire to ascend to higher divisions such as Kakkonen and Veikkausliiga. Matches are held across multiple regional groups, fostering community engagement and promoting the sport at grassroots levels. With its rich local flavor and competitive spirit, Finland Kolmonen plays a vital role in the development of Finnish football talent and the overall growth of the sport in the country.
