Wikipedia - Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers
The Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers are a Filipino professional women's volleyball team owned by United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI). The team competes in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), where they have played since 2021.
The team debuted in 2020, originally as a rebranding of the Foton Tornadoes, a team that had competed in the Philippine Super Liga since 2013. In 2021, the turned pro after moving to the PVL. The team after the Chery Tiggo crossover SUVs.
The team won one championship in the 2021 PVL Open Conference, their first in the PVL.
History
The team debuted in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) during the 2014 Grand Prix as the original Foton Tornadoes. Heading to the 2020 season, the team was renamed to Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
On March 10, 2021, the team announced it has joined the professional PVL. They became the first-ever volleyball champions in a fully-professional league when they won the 2021 PVL Open Conference title.
Chery's former mother team, Foton Tornadoes would be reformed in 2023 and is due to play[] alongside them in the 2023 Invitational Conference.
